I hope your Saturday is coming along well and that you are treating your mane with love and care ;-). Weekends are probably the best days to try out different styles and products since not many of us work over the weekend. Well, today I would like to send more love your way by reviewing the Marini Naturals Products specifically the leave in conditioner and the curling cream. I had been eyeing these products for a while since I read about the founder, Mitchelle Ntalami, on Salon Magazine. I was not only excited but also inspired, when I learnt that there was a Kenyan natural hair care brand; I couldn’t wait to try them out. If you haven’t laid your hands on the Marini products, this post is for you. Today am going to share my Marini experience with you and hopefully inspire you to treat your mane to these sweet-scented natural hair products. 😉
What really got me excited about the products generally was the scent! Vanilla and strawberry 😉 My goodness! These products will leave your hair smelling so goooood. I was tempted to use the curling butter as my hand lotion just because it smells sooooo great!!My niece could not smelling the cream as I experimented the same on her hair. Sigh.
I did Bantu knots using the Marini Curling butter and leave in detangling conditioner. I worked with dry hair; used smaller sections; applied a little bit of the conditioner which works as great moisturizer; then detangled the section using a brush. Then, I applied my coconut oil before applying the curling butter from the roots to the ends. I rubbed the butter against my hair strands to ensure that it was spread evenly along the strands. Then I proceeded to roll the hair from the roots to the ends, and tucked the rolled out section and secured it with a pin. I slept in my satin bonnet and unraveled the knots the next day.
As I was undoing my bantu knots, I was really amazed at the great hold and definition my hair had. What is even more interesting is the fact that I did not have to apply a lot of the curling cream. All you have to do is to apply the butter along the strands and rub it against your hair strands before rolling the hair into a knot. There will be zero crunch, no flakes and great results if you use the correct amount. This way, the product can take you to the end of the month 😉
As naturalistas, we definitely crave for defined curls when trying out different styles. For a great curl definition, I would definitely recommend the Marini Curling Butter for twist outs, bantu knots and three-strand twists. I will definitely do a video on the process to guide you on how to do the bantu knots. My subsequent posts for the month will also show you how I styled my bantu knots.
I hope the results as shown in the photos will leave you inspired to try out the Marini Naturals Curling Cream (if you have not yet tried it out). If you have tried it out before, what was your experience like? Do share on the comment section below 😉 You can also tag Marini Naturals on your photos on instagram for them to feature you in their new segment “The Naturalista Feature“. As most people struggle with perfect bantu knots, i recently dished out five tips on my instagram account that may help you. I will be keen to give more tips so do follow my page for hair tips and tricks. 🙂
Till next time,
Keep your mane scented and curled up with Marini.
Love, Margie. 😉
