CASUAL SHIRT DRESS

I’m a lover of colours and prints.ย  Colours put me in such a beautiful lovely mood when I’m feeling down. It was therefore inevitable that this casual colourful shirt dress would join the family as soon as our eyes met๐Ÿ˜‚.ย

SAREES AND FASCINATORS

I love it when I get the chance to accessorize my braids because accessories definitely make a difference ! So I was fascinated (all pun intended) when I realized that I could accessorize using fascinators while rocking braids. It was more pleasing to get one that matched the colour of this beautiful Saree that I was gifted by one gorgeous lady. She gave me this Saree three years ago but I was so tiny to fit in.ย  This is the one time gaining weight has come in really handy ๐Ÿ˜—๐Ÿ˜Š.

FINDING PURPOSE: PASSION V CAREER

I looked at the picture above and felt so proud of the woman I have grown into. This picture sparked a number of emotions and took me back to 2015 when I first landed my legal internship position at a prestigious law firm. I remember exactly how I battled a number of emotions. I was happy because I didnโ€™t fail the interview; nervous because I had never worked 8-5 job; sad because taking the job meant I would have to let go of something I loved doing, teaching music and blogging partly.

CASUAL OFF SHOULDER DRESS

I am not a fan of stripes. However, when I saw this off shoulder dress, I was surprisingly very happy and didn’t think twice about what my bank account would look like afterwards. Lol! I love off shoulder pieces; in fact, it’s safe to say I am addicted to the off shoulder trend! So leaving this casual off shoulder dress would definitely haunt me in the middle of the night. What made it even more appealing is the fact that (I think) I can wear this particular dress when I get pregnant and still look stylish. ๐Ÿ˜‰

FOUR WAYS TO TIE A HEAD WRAP WHILE IN BRAIDS

Do you guys know the feeling when you get your hair braided then a few days later, you look at pics of your natural hair then you absolutely miss it? Or, when you have your natural hair open, then you see someone braided and you immediately want to braid? (Like I’ve made some of y’all feel) Lol! Anyway, I have always loved being colourful and when rocking braids, turbans and head scarves can add the colourful vibe to your whole look. So here are a few ways I have tied my scarves and turbans when rocking this super light braided up-do and felt absolutely uplifted (because colours have a way of making us cheerful ๐Ÿ™‚ )

MY BRAID CARE ROUTINE

It’s been two years since I had box braids installed!! The last time was when my friend did them for me and I trusted her to do them.ย  I say ‘trust’ because that’s usually the main issue for me when it comes to braiding. The questions that run through my head include “Will she mess up my hairline? ” “Can she make my hair without using heat? ” ” Will it be painful? ” “Will I handle the weight of the braids ” …etc .I’m usually very skeptical about braiding but when I heard about Darling Elegant Braids being #HairLightAsHair, I had to try them and if you are curious if they are, this blog post is for you ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰Before delving into the my braid care routine, let me give you the details of what I used and who made my hair this time…
